If you have always wanted to get the best of Uganda, then you have a reason to undertake this special 14- day safari. Get a lifetime opportunity to explore different tourist sites and abundant wildlife species in their natural habitat. Start with visit to rhinos in the wild at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, proceed to Murchison Falls National Park for more big game viewing/game drive, & boat cruise, Kibale National Park to locate chimpanzees in the wild, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to see mountain gorillas, relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi, etc.

There will be a chance to search for the unique tree climbing lions at Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is ranked as Uganda’s 2nd largest park, also dubbed the medley of wonders. Lake Mburo National Park will be the last safari park to be visited on this safari and expect to see a huge concentration of zebras plus other wildlife species.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at the airport

Meet our company representative for pick up and transfer to a comfortable lodge in Entebbe or Kampala. Have a long evening chilling at the comfort of your hotel awaiting the next day’s plan.

Day 2: Hotel pick up & drive to see rhinos at Ziwa

After breakfast, meet your safari leader for a briefing about the 14 days Uganda safari and at 8:00 am, set off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary then later connect to Murchison Falls National Park. From Kampala, drive along the Luweero-Masindi route and branch off at Nakasongola for rhino tracking in Ziwa. Explore more about rhinos in the wild, take pictures with a chance of spotting other animals.

Exit Ziwa and drive to Masindi for lunch break then later continue to the Northern section of Murchison Falls NP via Kichumbanyobo gate. Before you get dropped off at the safari lodge, you may head off to the top of the falls to take photos, observe the falls while it squeezes itself into a narrow rock measuring about 8 meters.

Day 3: Explore Murchison Falls wildlife–game drive & boat cruise

Leave the lodge as early as 6:00 am and start your game drive through Northern game tracks. In a 4×4 tourist vehicle, you will have a variety of wildlife to watch including Uganda Kobs, hartebeests, the Rothschild giraffes, bushbucks, oribis, leopards, lions, African elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, spotted hyenas, and birds.

Enjoy a delicious lunch break once you return from a game drive and the 2:00 pm boat cruise excursion will be your next experience. The launch cruise begins at the Paraa Jetty lasting for 2-3 hours along the Victoria Nile. Between the Paraa Jetty and bottom of the falls, you will be spotting diversity of aquatic life, especially hippos, crocodiles and birds like fish eagles, kingfishers, etc.

Day 4: Travel through Hoima to Kibale NP

Depart the safari lodge for chimpanzee tour in Kibale National Park. This park is Uganda’s leading primate destination, located in Kabarole district and connecting from Murchison Falls NP takes 6-7 hours’ drive.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking & visit Bigodi Wetland

Enjoy a hefty breakfast and briefing will follow at Kanyanchu Tourism Center. The actual trek to see chimpanzees begins at 8:00 am after the briefing and you will be led by experienced park guides. Chimpanzees are closest to human beings, sharing up to 98.7 percent of their DNA with us and you will have one hour enjoying a face to face encounter with these primates. After lunch, transfer to Bigodi Wetland for a nature walk which will last for 2 hours. This swamp is home to abundant primates and bird species.

Day 6: Kibale to Queen Elizabeth N/P

Enjoy a delicious breakfast in the morning, after you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. En-route, you will be viewing the spectacular Crater Lakes, banana farms and the legendary Rwenzori mountain ranges on the background. Arrive early and you check in at the wildlife safari lodge to relax from and retire for a night.

Day 7: Enjoy an early morning game drive & launch cruise

Set off for the 6:00 am game drive via the Kasenyi Plains, expecting to take 2-3 hours while keeping an eye on diversity of wildlife species. Your animal sightings on this game track include the cape buffaloes, lions, African bush elephants, Uganda Kobs, warthogs, and other antelope families. After lunch, join others on a boat cruise tour along Kazinga Channel for 2-3 hours and allows you to see different aquatic life: hippos, crocodiles, and birds.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth NP –explore Bwindi

Take your breakfast at leisure and after, start a road trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park driving through Ishasha sector. At Ishasha, drive at a slow pace while searching for tree climbing lions, plus other species of animals.

Day 9: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest gorilla encounter

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and after, attend a briefing session at the park offices. You will be allocated to a gorilla group to visit and in a sub-group of 8 visitors, an experienced park ranger guide will be leading you through the forest till the end of the trek.

Once you have come across a family of gorillas, enjoy one hour of close encounter and taking photos. Late in the afternoon, visit the Batwa community to explore the distinct cultures, and traditions, not forgetting the thrilling dances, & music performances.

Day 10: Explore Lake Bunyonyi (deepest lake)

After breakfast, drive from Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi and today, you will be exploring the deepest Lake in Uganda and magnificent water body with 29 islands. At Lake Bunyonyi, you will have a canoe ride to the island & relaxation at the lake shores or opt for swimming.

Day 11: Lake Mburo | game drive, cycling amidst wildlife

Start early in the morning with breakfast and after, drive to Lake Mburo National Park. This compact savanna park in Western Uganda will en-rich you with exciting and unforgettable wildlife experience. It is one park in East Africa where a huge population of impalas, zebras and other antelopes can be spotted.

Day 12: Game drive & launch cruise excursions | Lake Mburo

Your morning game drive will you exposed to different wildlife from rest of the parks you visited on this itinerary including zebras, impalas, topis, elands, giraffes, birds and others. Return for lunch and join the afternoon launch cruise on Lake Mburo where you will be spotting hippos, crocodiles and water birds.

Day 13: Cycling in the wild & community visit

After breakfast, set off for cycling tour in the park to see wildlife on a bike rather than a 4×4 tourist vehicle. Retreat from cycling experience and have a relaxed afternoon, then you will visit the nearby community for a cultural experience.

Day 14: Depart for Kampala | Equator

Start driving back to Kampala or Entebbe and at Kayabwe, a stopover will be had at the Equator crossing. After taking pictures and relaxation, continue to Kampala or Entebbe city for a relaxed stay at the hotel.
