The exciting Gorilla Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

From Kigali to Bwindi is quoted at about 4-5 hours' drive depending on sector and border crossing.

This 1-day trek depart early from kigali, drive into Uganda, trek, then return to Kigali the same day.

It's mainly for travelers on the short time and use this way to squeeze in a gorilla encounter without overnighting inside Uganda (though it means a long day).

1-Day Itinerary Tour

Early morning pick-up in Kigali hotel or airport at around 3:00 am  and depart in 4*4 vehicle and drive through Rwanda border Katuna or Cyanika as you continue to Bwindi.

On the arrival at the park headquarters, briefing about the Gorilla trek begins.

Gorilla trekking begins by hiking through forest trails to find a habituated gorilla family. The trek duration may take (2-6 hours) depending on the location of the gorillas.

Once the gorillas are found, you will spend 1 hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitant and return back by making some stops to have lunch and then depart again to kigali.

What to pack and dress

• Good hiking shoes with grip for muddy/uneven trails
• Rain jacket or poncho the forest is wet, whether changes fast
• Long-sleeved shirts and long trousers for protection
• Water 1-2 liters or more and packed lunch of your choice.
