Day 1: Scenic Flight to the Gorilla Highlands
You we’ll depart from Entebbe International Airport at 7:00 am or 10:30 am for a scheduled domestic flight from Entebbe to southwestern Uganda. The flight itself is part of the experience. As the aircraft climbs above Lake Victoria, you will enjoy breathtaking aerial views of Uganda’s rolling hills, lush countryside, and volcanic landscapes.
The plane lands at Kihihi Airstrip or Kisoro Airstrip, the gateway to the world-famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Bwindi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s oldest rainforests, estimated to be more than 25,000 years old. The forest is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including more than 450 mountain gorillas, representing nearly half of the world’s remaining population of the endangered Mountain Gorilla.

The trek can take anywhere from two – six hours, depending on where the gorilla family is located. Then comes the moment everyone waits for encountering a gorilla family in the wild.
Standing just a few meters away from a group of majestic Mountain Gorilla is a deeply emotional experience. You will watch the gorillas interact with each other, mothers caring for their young, and the powerful silverback guarding the group.
Visitors are allowed one magical hour with the gorillas before trekking back.
After the trekking experience and our packed lunch, continue to the breathtaking Lake Bunyonyi, about a 2-3-hour scenic drive through the terraced hills of southwestern Uganda.
