Explore and experience Uganda’s natural wonders on our expertly designed 8 days safari holiday. This long expedition introduces you to some of the best parks in Uganda including Murchison Falls National Park, Bwindi, Kibale, and Queen Elizabeth National Park. It encompasses different experiences ranging from primate adventures (chimpanzee & gorilla trekking) to wildlife (game drives & boat cruises).
Pick up at the agreed location in Kampala and drive for 5-6 hours to Murchison Falls NP via the Gulu highway. You will branch off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos in the wild, then continue to Masindi for lunch and later, head off to the park for relaxation.
Leave the safari lodge for a game drive 2-3 hours and in your vehicle, expect to see variety of wildlife as they become active for the day. The Northern circuit of the park will give you incredible sightings of wildlife: the Rothschild giraffes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, cape buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeests, elephants, leopards, lions, and more.
Get back for lunch at the lodge and after, be part of the exhilarating launch cruise on the Victoria Nile River to the base of Murchison Falls. At the river banks, see the basking crocodiles, hippos, and aquatic birds the enjoy photography at the base of the falls. If the water levels are low, you may dock at Baker’s rock and start trekking for 45 minutes to the top of the falls.
Set off from Murchison Falls NP to Kibale NP and a long day drive includes en-route lunch break in Fort Portal city. From Fort Portal tourism city, connect to Kibale NP, a remarkable destination with 13 primate species.
Attend in person the briefing session about chimpanzee trekking guidelines at Kanyanchu visitor centre. At 8:00 am, your group will be led by the park guide through the Kibale Forest to look for chimpanzee community. This primate trek will be lasting for 2-4 hours inclusive of one hour for observing how chimpanzees behave and taking photos.
With 13 primates, there are higher chances of coming across other primates like l’hoest monkeys, blue monkeys, mangabeys, baboons, red-tailed monkeys, red colobus monkeys, and others. The afternoon activity will be a nature walk in Bigodi, a rich swamp to see more primates and birds like the Great blue turacos.
Leave Kibale Forest NP on a scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth NP, view the Crater Lakes. Arrive early and have enough time relaxing at the lodge, get lunch and later proceed to enjoy a boat excursion on Kazinga channel. This natural channel links Lake George to Lake Edward, offering excellent view of hippos, crocodiles and water birds.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and after, drive to Kasenyi for a game drive. Today’s game drive will allow you to see wildlife such as lions, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, antelopes and countless bird species. Return & proceed to Bwindi, driving through Ishasha where tree climbing lions live.
Early in the morning, report to Bwindi NP offices for briefing and to be assigned a family to trek. This park has 4 regions (Ruhija, Buhoma, Rushaga and Nkuringo) with habituated gorilla groups, about 20 groups live here. Trekking with park’s mountain gorillas takes 2-6 hours inclusive of one hour for photo taking and observing their daily behaviors. When you return, have a relaxed afternoon before heading to the Batwa community for a cultural experience.
Expect to wake up early, settle for breakfast and check out afterwards. Start driving back to Kampala or Entebbe with lunch break to be made in Mbarara then at Equator crossing, take photos as many as you can and even purchase some art crafts.
